Niederweiden Castle - pleasure palace in Marchfeld

Niederweiden Palace forms a charming contrast to the mighty Hof Palace. Designed partly in the style of a French pleasure palace and partly on the model of the stately villas of northern Italy, it harmoniously combines the need for Baroque representation and rustic comfort. Like Hof Palace, Niederweiden Palace was once owned by Prince Eugene before it was acquired by Empress Maria Theresa.
