Eckartsau Castle

Eckartsau Castle - In the footsteps of the Danube monarchy

Every year in April and May, the former imperial hunting lodge Eckartsau is the traditional venue for the Eckartsau Palace Concerts. The magnificent ballroom and the numerous hunting trophies of the heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand tell of the splendor and glory of the Habsburg era. The Danube monarchy also ended in the castle at that time: the last Austrian imperial couple fled from here into exile. This story about the last hours of Austria-Hungary is told during exciting guided tours at the original site.
