To the east, where the sun rises over Austria, lies a region that invites visitors to discover its rich diversity. The Marchfeld plain is home to a wealth of castles known as the ‘Schlösserreich’ and acts as the link between two large cities, Vienna and Bratislava. More of Austria’s history is concentrated in this region than almost any other. For many centuries, this history revolved around the four magnificent Marchfeld castles of Hof, Eckartsau, Marchegg and Orth, where courtly elegance meets nature’s splendour.
