Castle Červený Kameň

Castle Červený Kameň

The most beautiful castle in the Little Carpathians, located only a few tens of kilometers from Bratislava, is one of the best preserved castles called Červený Kameň. In the 16th century it was rebuilt into a monumental fortress with a fortification system and belonged to the top of the military defense strategy of that time. Although a monumental fortress was built on the site of the original 13th century royal castle by the Fugger family in the first half of the 16th century, the castle history is connected with the Pálfi family from 1583 until the Second World War. This important Hungarian family gradually rebuilt the castle into a representative residence with rich stucco decorations and rich fresco painting in the interiors. At present there is a museum in the castle, where the historical way of living of the nobility is shown. In the castle area you can also find a wine bar, a restaurant and a café.
