Golden Tower Regensburg
Golden tower
The Golden Tower in the old town of Regensburg is a so-called family tower, which dates back to the 2nd half of the 13th century. The rich patrician families built these towers in the Middle Ages as a status symbol. The more important the family was, the higher the tower was built. At 50 meters, the nine-story residential tower towers far above the rooftops of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The impressive courtyard is open and can be visited at any time. You can get to the courtyard from Wahlenstraße as well as from Untere Bachgasse.
