Lentos Art Museum
The Lentos Art Museum is located directly on the Danube in Linz, and its impressive architecture shapes Linz’s cityscape. The contemporary, transparent glass façade sets the Lentos and the Danube aglow in bright colours at night. The striking oversized ‘picture frame’, which cuts through the building’s structure, offers a wonderful view of the district of Urfahr and a further point of interest, Pöstlingberg Mountain. The Lentos Art Museum exhibits modern and contemporary art in a unique atmosphere. On display are artworks from the 19th century, to Classical Modernism (Klimt, Schiele, Kokoschka) and Expressionism, to the latest contemporary takes on art (VALIE EXPORT). Special exhibitions also provide insights into a variety of themes and periods of art, or are dedicated to the work of individual artists. Families are very welcome!
